Update Monday

Hi Everyone,

Its Tuesday afternoon here right now and all our pilots have now flown their first round, all flew on the same line, line one.  There are two flight lines being used here at the AMA site there is also practice flight line, all lines are basically parallel behind each other separated by about 500 metres each.  Needless to say this is a very big place.

Paul Dart was seventh to fly this morning and Steve was tenth to fly, the weather was very good with mainly light winds and mostly sunny, both were a little rusty at times but were still quite solid flights, Paul scored 386 and Steve scored 383.

Glenn Orchard was up not long after lunch with new judges at 47 and James Nugent flew shortly after at 51, weather was still nice and sunny but the wind had come up to about 8 knots quartering in.  Glenn’s flight was quite good scoring 381 and James put in an awesome beyond his 13 years of age and scored 392, I thought they would have got a higher score.  All pilots are showing some real signs of improvement after being coached by Peter Goldsmith at Monticelllo.

Of interest at the team Managers meeting last night was that there is 5 juniors entered in the event and therefore at the end of the competition they will be announcing a Junior World Champion, go James.

The following is some more pics from our last day at Monticello and traveling to Muncie then registration and scrutineering and our first days flying competition.
